July 16th Bargaining Update

Your CWA/IBT Association Bargaining Committee met this week on July 13th, 14th & 15th. You’ll find details of each session below and specifics about the status of each article in a PDF iconbargaining-status-chart-july-16-2015-2.pdf.

On Monday, July 13th, the Company presented a counter to the Union’s proposal on Article 6, Customer Service Overtime. The Union Committee continued to work on Article 5, Hours of Service and Article 6, Customer Service Overtime.

On Tuesday, July 14th, The Union presented a counter to the Company’s proposal on Article 5, Hours of Service.  The Union committee continued to work on Article 6, Customer Service Overtime.

On Wednesday July 15,th the Company met with the Association and agreed to the Union’s counter proposal on Article 5, Hours of Service. We have reached a tentative agreement on Article 5, Hours of Service. The Union presented a counter to the Company proposal on Article 6, Customer Service Overtime. The Company also presented a counter proposal to our initial counter proposal. The joint bargaining session ended and the unions continue their work on Article 6.

In addition, the Union agreed to an LOA that will allow Club Representatives on a voluntary basis to participate in AAdvantage Cash Program. Currently this promotion is also performed by Reservation Agents and Flight Attendants. The Union signed an LOA which will expand the duties currently performed by Club Representatives to allow them to better service high-value customers at certain locations.  This will be reflected in the new contract. This will increase head count.  Anyone interested should check the job postings for details.

In order to prepare for the next joint sessions, the Union Bargaining Committee continued meeting and will adjourn Friday July, 17th.

We have 6 more bargaining sessions scheduled. The next scheduled bargaining session is in Dallas the week of July 28th.
