Your CWA/IBT Association Bargaining Committee met in Dallas on March 17, 18 and 19. You’ll find details of each session below, and specifics about the status of each article in a PDF icondownloadable PDF

On Tuesday, March 17th, the Union passed Article 12, Reductions in Force and Article 13, Voluntary Furlough. The Company came back in the afternoon and gave us a counter proposal on Article 13. We ended the day working on additional proposals.

On Wednesday, March 18th, we met with the Company and gave them proposals on Article 8, Seniority; Article 14, Recall; and Article 15, Furlough Benefits. We left to work on additional proposals to give the Company later in the afternoon. When we returned, we gave the Company proposals for Article 13, Voluntary Furlough and Article 11, Seasonal Employee Transfer. At the end of the day the Company gave us proposals on Article 8, Seniority; Article 14,Recall; Article 12, Reductions in Force; and Article 15, Furlough Benefits.

On Thursday, March 19th, we met with the Company and gave them a proposal on Article 18, Sick Leave, and reached a tentative agreement on Article 11, Seasonal Employee Transfers. The Company gave us a counter proposal on Article 13, Voluntary Furlough and Article 15, Furlough Benefits. We ended our session reaching a tentative agreement on Article 14, Recall and Article 8, Seniority.

The Seniority article does not include the integration of US and AA seniority rosters. That will be done in a separate Letter of Agreement and the Union is continuing to work on that. Article 8 only deals with how seniority is used after the contract is ratified.

Our next scheduled bargaining session is in Dallas the week of March 30th.
