May 8th Bargaining Update

May 8th, 2015

Your CWA/IBT Association Bargaining Committee met in Dallas on May 4th, 5th, and 6th.

On Monday, May 4th,the Union passed Article 5, Hours of Service, which covers our shift and break schedules, bidding, and shift trade rules. Later that day, the Company reviewed the IT issues that go along with merging the two Airlines. We had the opportunity to question the folks who are working on the IT transition to help us better understand the different systems that are being combined to handle payroll, scheduling and other aspects of everyday operations. We continued the day working on Article 29, Training, Travel Pay, and Meal Per Diem and passed our proposal on to the Company that afternoon.

On Tuesday, May 5th, we met with the Company in the morning, and they returned Article 29, Training, Travel Pay, and Meal Per Diem. We reached a tentative Agreement on it that day. We continued to work until very late that evening on Article 6, Overtime— Customer Service.

On Wednesday, May 6th, we met with the Company and passed them our changes to Article 6, Overtime—Customer Service, and they passed back Article 5, Hours of Service and Article 18, Sick Leave.  On Wednesday, we also continued to prepare our proposal on Article 7, Overtime—Reservations, to pass to the Company when we begin our next scheduled bargaining session.

Our next session will be held in Dallas the week of May 10th.
