The CWA/IBT Association and the Company have extended the trial mando agreement for another three week period, which will run from July 26 through August 15.
The CWA/IBT Association appreciates all the feedback we've received from members regarding the trial. We have modified the trial agreement to include that feedback. The modified trial will run for a three-week period starting July 5 and ending July 25.
CWA/IBT is aware of our members being required to work excessive mandatory overtime at many airports. Overtime notices are issued at the local level, and Local Union leaders are not always included in the notice to members. This makes it impossible to understand the scope of the problem nationally.

American Airlines will be sending Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications, or WARN Act notifications, to CWA/IBT Association-covered employees. This notice, which is required by law, will contain information indicating that AA may furlough employees. This does NOT mean you will be furloughed.
American Airlines is now accepting new applications for VLOA that would run through September 30, 2020. Applications are due before midnight Central Time on June 27, 2020. All U.S.-based mainline employees except pilots are eligible to apply.
Based on advice from our legal team and agreement with the Teamsters, we have decided not to open bargaining on our contract this year. We will wait until the next amendable period in the hope that the airline's economic status improves so that we would not be forced to bargain over concessionary proposals.
CWA has worked with American Airlines to reduce union dues for members currently on leave. We will pause all dues deductions for members in these groups and then turn the deductions back on when most members in that group should be returning to work.
