The CWA/IBT Association and the Company have extended the trial mando agreement for another three week period, which will run from July 26 through August 15.
The CWA/IBT Association appreciates all the feedback we've received from members regarding the trial. We have modified the trial agreement to include that feedback. The modified trial will run for a three-week period starting July 5 and ending July 25.
CWA/IBT is aware of our members being required to work excessive mandatory overtime at many airports. Overtime notices are issued at the local level, and Local Union leaders are not always included in the notice to members. This makes it impossible to understand the scope of the problem nationally.

On October 24, a sea of red shirts greeted CEO Doug Parker and other American Airlines executives at the company's quarterly State of the Airline meeting in Fort Worth. "It was important for us to be there and make our statements on behalf of our co-workers," said Renee de la Garza of Local 6001.

The CWA/IBT Association of Passenger Service Employees has been informed of a restructuring plan announced by American Airlines. American plans to move all reservation agents into an office over the next two years and close Reno Res in March 2020.

Under the terms of our contract, every agent will be offered a job at a center they choose: INT, DFW, or PHX.

CWA passenger service agents worked hard last year to get language included in the FAA Reauthorization Act to protect agents from assault. The language included in the act ensures that airlines will develop clear procedures for reporting verbal and physical abuse of agents, will immediately notify law enforcement, and will stop passengers involved in violent incidents from proceeding onto aircraft before law enforcement has assessed the situation.

In June 2019 CWA Next Generation and District 3 co-sponsored a new training targeted to the needs of young union members. The participants included two passenger service agents, Jasiman Turner (Piedmont, CLT) and Richard Sanjuan (AA, MIA).
